The character of Medea has been the inspiration for numerous paintings, plays and analysis. A beautiful strong and powerful woman, heiress of a kingdom, intelligent and ambitious, she was carried away by her impulses and committed one of the worst crimes in history: the murder of her own children as a punishment for Jason for betraying her.
