an objective GPS for american politics

fat cat map is a bigdata analysis platform for political information. the first of its kind, it's a self-running engine that consumes, indexes, analyzes and visualizes politics to produce an image of our government never before seen by human eyes.

see corporations, industries, legislation, and many more datapoints connected before your very eyes. browse, explore, and examine the data any way you please - fatcatmap's built in data browser makes it easy and intuitive to understand the big picture, in a way that spreadsheets and simple charts can't provide.
current status

development is still very active on numerous platform and app components that must be in place to create the analysis engine and host the amount of data that we plan to collect. numerous side projects that introduce new funding avenues and technology options are currently in the works, and primary development on the app will resume in november, 2012.

many of these accompanying components are open source, and some are even here on behance!

The "minigraph": an early prototype of direct influence visualization, explored on a smaller and more intimate scale than the "megagraph" above.

early previews / prototypes
This is a recent snapshot of the fatcatmap's visualizer, which is still very much a work in progress. Visuals are drawn with SVG, meaning they can scale infinitely larger or smaller and take advantage of hardware accelerated rendering.
