Few things give context to life at home as life in another city. You notice the similarities, the differences, how life has adapted to the terrain, and the culture that has formed to suit it. San Francisco is one of my favorite cities to visit, a beautifully old place with no pretense of pristine modernity. Walk the streets and you will see the litter, the homeless, the wired public transportation. All front and center to be consumed just as equally as the new.

On a recent trip I allowed myself the opportunity to roam the streets and capture life here as an observer, catching a glimpse of life in this beautiful city with an old soul.
