InkBlot Designs
Custom Shoes and Accessories by Jessica Tenuta

Case Study:

By combining my traditional illustration skills, and my deep passion for entrepreneurship, I created Inkblot Designs Custom Shoes (formerly Custom Shoes by Jess).

I began selling and marketing custom one-of-a-kind, hand-illustrated shoes, initially under the name Custom Shoes by Jess, operating through social media outlets.  Now, in 2012, I have begun the process of fully branding and expanding this company to a full web-based business with a new name.

Renaming the brand required thought in choosing a name that would be flexible for adding additional products in the future, one that would speak to the target market of adolescents and young adults, and one that lends itself to a visual mark that does not overpower the products themselves.  The final name chosen for the rebrand was InkBlot Designs.  The name is neutral enough to avoid alienating any clientele through overly youthful branding, and allows for great flexibility as the company moves forward.  The company tagline is: What will your InkBlots say about you?", making reference to Rorschach inkblot personality tests, to make the connection that products from InkBlot Designs reveal your personality and individualism.

The full website is under development, scheduled to launch around the Summer of 2013.
