ART 131 Design I
(18 in x 24 in)
The purpose of this drawing was to give an unexpected texture to an object. I wanted it to feel unsettling and reflect loneliness. First I placed the overall shape of the balloon where I felt it would be most pleasing, then I tried to make the surface as smooth as possible in a light skin tone. Once that was done, I drew in the veins, giving them highlights and shadows. I wanted it to really stand out on the paper so I chose a dark black background. The last thing I added was the string.
