A poster project that I did for Marina Bay Poster Design Competition 2016 by Singapore Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) in collaboration with NAFA and Marina Bay in March 2016.
The theme is togetherness, and I want to depict this theme in a slightly different way.
When we think about soldiers, they are mostly away from home, and they hardly have any time to meet with their family. In this artwork, I want to show that even though they are far from each other by distance, they are always together by heart.
Here we can see a female air force pilot flying a plane on SG50 celebration while her family are watching her from the ground, feeling proud and happy. She also always remember her family, shown by the photo inside her airplane.
Behind are 5 Singapore's iconic landmarks, and the family are also wearing red and white shirt with 5 stars, showing Singapore's ideals of democracy, peace, progress, justice and equality depicted by their National flag.
P.S.: This is my second project since I started learning Adobe Illustrator in January. It is hard to do details, it takes a lot of time, but I'm glad I am able to do this. I learn a lot from the trials and errors and now I can say that Illustrator is one of my forte :D
