Two Fates by Judy Balan is a parody of Chetan Bhagat's Two States. Interestingly, this story starts where the original story ends - the couple's wedding. The couple falls out of love and wants to get divorced. However, their families do not want so. Just how couples can't get married, they can't get a divorce without a 'yes' from their parents in India.
This book is a humorous take on how a big Punjabi family starts living with an equally big Tamil family to save their children's marriage. Together, they create some dramatic situations to light up some romance between them.
I used Indian Puppetry to communicate how the families are controlling the couple and the poor couple dancing to their tunes. A comical visual language has been created to suit the light and funny mood of the plot.
