This table was designed and made with materials indigenous to the area where I live. Mesquite is considered to be a nuisance tree by many, but it has great figure and a beautiful honey color. It also has natural defects like cracks, knots and insect holes which can add to its charm. The defects in this table were filled with casting resin and ground turquoise.
The pedestal of this table was created from the roots of a live oak tree. These were carefully sanded and polished before applying a finish. They have an amazing sculptural like quality to them.
A piece of clear glass goes in the top's center.
