Spotting Graphic Design

I like the contrast of the image between the main person and the jersey. I like how they incorporate black and white and also include blue in a fluid way. And I also like the focus point, which is the jersey.

I like the color theory used, they used purple and yellow/orange which are compelmentary colors. I also like how the background is a blended image of the state Phenoix which is the team Devin Booker plays for. And I also like how everything is spaced out evenly and very organized.

I like how the pattern of the background really makes the main object stick out. When you first look at this image your viewpoint goes directly to the face, then the title of the magazine, and then the subtitles. Which is a correct order of importance.

This is a Nike ad of the Kobe 8 model. This image shows a vibrant color and makes the shoe the main focus. I also like the refraction and the light trailing behind the shoe as it gives the shoe an action and makes it come alive rather than placed on the ground.

This image is very appealing because the plain background brings out the sandwhich and turns it into the main object of the ad. I also like how the bold, dark green font on the side states a statement regarding the company Subway and its purpose.

Analysis

Contrast: There is a contrast in images between Devin Booker and the background image of the state of Phenoix. There is also contrast in the images of Devin Booker himself as there is 1 bold image and 2 lightly blended images of him in the back.

Repetition: There is repetition in the the background as the same plant keeps appearing, almost like a cooral

Alignment: There is alignment through the name at the bottom, as its in a straight line and equally spaced

Proximity: There is proximity in the two side images of Devin Booker as they're on each side of the main image of Devin Booker

Contrast: There is contrast in the writing as the most important things are bigger and bolder and the least important things are smaller

Repetition: There is repetition in the background as the same pattern is repeated throughout

Alignment: For the most part, the writing is all straight and spaced equally, but if the writing is slanted, they all slant at the same angle which is a good thing

Proximity:Everything is equally spaced from eachother using the full page, and the main object(the person) is big and the main focus point

Contrast: The contrast in this image is found in the shoe. The background of the image is dark but the shoe is bright and catches your eye

Repetition: Its found in the refraction at the bottom of the image, as it almost repeats the whole image

Alignment:Alignment is found in the beaming light trailing behind the shoe as its equally big in height

Proximtiy: The main image of the shoe is in the middle of the page

3-D Popout Project

This project was actually fairly easy with the help of the well explained paragraph. The challenge I had was the bar placement. I had a little bit of trouble understanding the project, but the tutorial video really helped me out. In my project I put 1 arm in front of the white bar and 1 at the back of the bar. This really brought out the depth in my image. Overall this project gave me a better understanding of the program Adobe Photoshop and gave me new techniques. This project was really fun, and I liked the procees of turning a 2D image into 3D image.

This logo represents me as a person. The basketball represents my favorite hobby. The nike logo is one of my favorite sports brand clothing. And the Winnipeg, Manitoba represents where I live.

DATA DESIGN

This is the best infographic because it is very comprehensible, colorful, and contains an abundant amount of information. The alignment of everything is great because your eyes smoothly move from one section to another. It isn’t confusing to read. The colourful infographic catches my eye because yellow and purple are complimentary colours. The images used on this infographic range from realistic to drawn. There’s also a variety as almost every category has an image. For example, the category on Shaq’s achievements shows a picture of trophies. The statistics on this graph are also very interesting as they represent his whole career as opposed to just one year. Also, everything on this infographic is well spaced and not clustered. Therefore, allowing you to casually read it and not rush. The huge image of Shaq represents the topic of this info graph and tells you that the info graph in based on him. On some info graphs there’s a lot of information and this could cause readers to disengage from the info graph. On the info graph I chose, there’s an equal amount of words and pictures, and graphs which give you a visual representation.
