"Ricky Raccoon"

Media: graphite pencils

Size: 18" x 24"

"Ricky Raccoon" was completed in 2016, and was inspired by my surroundings in Virginia. This image highlights the interconnectedness found within nature, and the beauty that comes with biodiversity. They are all unique and local to the area, and are important for the different functions they serve in nature. The butterflies act as guides in his journey, and their innocence is playful and surreal, while the concept behind the work is daunting.
