The whole idea behind this movie is setting the tone for an award that honors creativity and excellence.
For us art is work.  And the best work comes from a combination of love, passion and something else that we didn't even know we had before doing it.

This piece is a little chaos, a lot of passion and pure love for those who try to inspire and do that extra mile looking for the perfect balance between design and animation.

A storm is coming. A tropical storm. With lots of colors, wind and emotions.
We  want to create a world with a wide variety of living creatures. Small and big, all shapes and lines.
Diversity is the key within the characters.
They are feeling that something is coming. So they gather. And talk. At first, there are just murmurs going around, but with time they get louder.

Different groups are passing the voice. The message is spreading. Now we see our characters ́ excitement building more and more. This is about the moment before the explosion.  It's all preamble and tension.
Is an instant of excitement previous to the ceremony.

We had a small team working in different cities and speaking different languages. Communication was key and we arranged a system where the director without being in situ could give feedback and work tight with the team.  A lot of little notes, gifs and texts where the backbone of this project.

The aesthetic is very minimal and as we had limited resources we decided to keep only the essential. A diverse world, a storm coming and a bunch of strange creatures living together.

This little dudes just have mouths, big eyes and lots of hair. We focused on a couple of actions; they talk a lot, they have big expressing eyes, and they have cool hair because we wanted some interaction between the storm and the characters.
And because cool hair is cool, right?

We did everything in cel animation and we pushed in a direction where gestural strokes and deformations were permitted. This is about doing something fun and inspirational so we tried to keep it in that way for the team too.Scribbles and crazy lines are allowed.

The sound design is the work of Antfood, we talked a little bit about ideas and the mood that we wanted to communicate. We played some references and they appeared one day with this amazing track with funny voices and remembrances of tropical frontiers.

Lastly, we have the wind and the storm. This is our main character and it's all chaos, color and creativity. We wanted to portray the award in some metaphorical way inside the movie and this crazy clouds are our way to show that.
