Believing to live for 100 years, the Phoenix dons a cloak of fiery plumage. As its life comes to a close it bursts into flames, disintegrating into a mound of ash. From the ash a new life springs forth to start again.
Love, at times, can mimic this cycle. The flame of desire can burn so intensely that once it leaves, it has the potential to reduce its victim, like the Phoenix, to nothing more than a heap of ash.
Eventually seeing the beauty underneath the blackened ash, it summons the courage to rise again. Unsure of how long it may take, it gains strength from the chance of a new life.
