For Science! is a technicolor space adventure in Stop Motion, completed over 10 weeks in Collaboration with Naomi Wiener and Franklin Brown. Sebastian traverses this magical glitter planet in search for a particular rare flower and doesn't care what he destroys on his quest. In the end his actions catch up with him...

The process began by gathering reference material and doing color studies and sketches, we knew what sort of world we wanted to create, but we needed to exactly what plants we would make and in what materials. This was a fun part of the process.
Next we began experimenting with foam, sand, and clay. The ground took about 3 coats of paint, 3 coats of sand, 2 coats of foam and 2 coats of spray print. At last we got the right tone of pink and moved on. We formed the mountains using sprayable foam and flex foam over a wire/paper frame. To make the sand rings of color and mounds we mixed glue, white sand and inks. Plants were made out of clay, paper, glitter, packing peanuts, wire, foam, and rubber toes
The astronaut got a round concept sketches before we landed on a final look and began fabricating the puppet.
Hand armature is made, a clay sculpt formed over that, and then a silicone mold created. We cast the hands in white foam, for the final look we coated them in balloon rubber and painted them white.
The head mold was made with silicone and casted in a hard plastic. We made replacement eyebrows and mustaches with clay. The wire armature of the puppet was covered in green foam, and the costume sewn over it.
