"With a primary focus of viewing, understanding and respecting the environment, Green Allies and the Upper Pottsgrove Township looked to Philadelphia University to create a Wilderness Shelter and Bird Blind for the Althouse Arboretum. Fourth year students from PhilaU’s Design 7 Build class—headed by David Kratzer—were challenged to design, fabricate, and assemble this structure. The project was meant to provide a viewing platform with clear sight-lines to observe and visually interact with local wildlife, all while avoiding disruption of these creatures’ natural habitats."
