The Disco Mug was a concept that seemed relatively simple at first, but the limitations of slip casting ceramics and the effect of thick mirror finish ceramic glazes meant that this project took a lot longer than expected.

The above design had recesses between each mirror plate, but the thick glaze caused they to fill, or loose the sharpness required. For the final design the grid of mirrors was raised like a chessboard, to achieve the best visual effect.

Having achieved this mirrored finish it was important that this could be seen from outside the packaging. The styling of the artwork for the packaging was suitably diva-inspired.
