Mend is an organization founded to provide a support system for women who have been victims of violent crime. This support is provided through a website designed to allow women to join and share their stories with other women who have been victimized. Members would automatically have a support system and network of others that could help through the recovery process. The website also provides much needed information provided to the general public about how to help those coping with a traumatic event, and many related useful articles as well. Upon signing up for the website, members would receive a free Mend care package in the mail, which would include various soothing items, made from both the company or other members themselves who have donated. These items could consist of anything from herbal tea, to hand-crafted items, to journals or notebooks. The program would provide an alternative to private or group therapy that would allow women to seek much needed support after a traumatic experience.
