A while ago I decided to make an unabashed ode to the rare summers I spent in rural Ukraine with my cousins. My village kids in this iteration are Gary (the far too tall to be 12 kid), Bucket (androgynous and never without soccer ball), Scrub (perpetually dirty), Newton (aesthetically unique, possible genius, wears socks without shoes) and Side Effect (the baby of the group), and sometimes Dodgeball (plucky, resourceful, never as ladylike as her parents wish she was). In this story they're looking to solve a mystery during the summer solstice.
A 5-page comic in which the kids stake out their barn hoping to catch the mysterious milk thief in action.
Some comic layouts playing with the idea that the farther away you get from cities and dense populations the easier it is for rumors and whispers to take on a life of their own and become legends.
