This is the side profile of a plaster cast of my foot. Once the plaster had dried out I then added paper-mashey to the foot, using different types of paper such as tissue paper and newspaper.
Here you can see that the foot is stained and is different colours in parts. For this effect I soaked some of the paper in coffee or tea before sticking it down. In the darker areas it is where i directly put really strong coffee solution directly onto the foot.
Because of all the liquid that was added to the foot it caused the plaster to crumble slightly at times, to overcome this i added PVA glue to the surface of the foot too seal in the colour and plaster.
This is the front profile of the foot. Here you can really see where the colour has taken to the paper. I really like the way on the toes you can still see the print off of the newspaper and on the big toe there is a darker area, it looks as though the toe nail has an infection and helps to give a depth of reality.
