Last Friday, on November 20th, 2015, my grandfather passed away after a long, hard fought battle with lung cancer. Thanksgiving, though surrounded by nearly the entirely family, felt empty without him.

As a tribute to him and what I will be sending with him on his final voyage to the next life is this recreation of an imaginary purple lobster, dancing in a bowl of lobster bisque that he came up with when he was on his pain medicines following his surgery to battle the cancer earlier this May. I wish I had finished it sooner so that he could see it, but I'm sure he would appreciate it if he were still with us.

Rest in peace, Granddad. I love and miss you very much.
