DEBUNK THE BAG"
Every year, millions of trees are cut down to produce paper bags. Although they are an alternative from using plastic bags, creating paper bags cause environmental harm, that is, to trees. Paper bags are mass produced with heavy-duty gas fed machinery. It takes three tons of wood and thousands of gallons of water just to produce a single ton of paper pulp. Not to mention that paper production emits air pollution, specifically, producing paper is 70% more pollutable than producing plastic. According to the Environmental Impact advocacy group, the impact of a paper grocery bag is 77.69, compared to a plastic grocery bag which is 6.46.
ECO 101 aims to unmask the truth about paper bags – they are not good for the environment. Every year, millions of trees are cut down to produce paper pulp, and production produces more air and water pollution compared to plastic bag production. ECO 101 proposes eco bags as an alternative.
