Blackbaud Institute Branding

Background & Goal
The Blackbaud Institute for Philanthropic Impact is a long-term commitment by Blackbaud to engage and improve the social good sector by bringing together the best experts, influences, innovators, and contributors in social good and technology. As a brand new entity, separate and distinct from Blackbaud, the Institute needed its own corporate identity and related assets.

Creative Execution
Creative needed to showcase the Institute’s extensive data, research, network, and ideas; demonstrate its commitment to empowering sustainable philanthropy; and convey that idea that the Institute is the go-to resource for professional guidance and best practices. The execution needed to be polished and academic without feeling haughty, and with so much information to convey, the design needed to be simple, clean, and user-friendly.
We developed a visual identity package that includes logo, variable-photo business cards, a motion graphics package, advertising standards, and a report template. The vertical rule separating the Institute name and descriptor is used throughout materials to create movement and continuity from piece to piece.
