DON'T WAKE ME.
This hand-dyed wall hanging was inspired by dreams. Dreams are often more appealing than real life; we often wish we could stay in our dream worlds forever and never awake from them. For me, my favorite dreams are quiet and soft, muted and relaxed. One thing that calms me is gardening and being surrounded by flowers. By creating a space that creates a quiet and calming atmosphere, the viewer can feel peaceful and serene. Each Tencel panel was dyed using reactive dye with a soy wax resist. Some panels also had a potato dextrin resist. Each panel was dyed using a watercolor technique and stamped with poppy flower stamps for a floral motif. After dyeing, white sewing thread was used to accent some of the drips and flower petals.
