This project was completed for my advanced fashion illustration class at SCAD. I was inspired by the Neon Sign Graveyard in Las Vegas. I loved the concept of a design graveyard where giant signs retired. I loved how they were out of context, cluttered and half working. The neon signage takes on an entirely different color scheme when they are half working. It is powdery, pastel and has a more washed out feel. The overloaded signage wasteland still stole my attention. I incorporated clashing colors, juxtaposing textures, attention grabbing shapes and motifs as well as lots of beading and embroidery to echo the lights.
