Concept:

Transforming Perceptions - Moss- Children of the Future
Our perception of the Spanish Moss is tainted by the horror stories or health hazards associated with them; nonetheless, the moss is a symbol of an interdependent community. Birds and their nests, frogs, beetles and other inhabit these moss. They are flowering plants that continuously propagate seeds and does not strip any nutrient from the tree. Similarly, the perception of eating healthy, organic and local may be linked to inconvenience, unpleasant taste and expensive. The design goal is create a space that becomes a lighthouse to transform people’s perception, and to change their perception of healthy and sustainable eating- for the sake of the children of tomorrow that includes the unborn. The users will capture knowledge, understand the urgency, create a new mindset and perception through art and change their lifestyle for the better.
