Amity is a slender bollard, light enough to be moved with the help of two people, but has enough weight to make a sturdy addition to any outdoor space. The fixture is comprised of three sections: a concrete base and walnut top linked by a frosted glass prism. By remaining grounded and emitting light from the center of the fixture, it is ideal to light an outdoor path or gathering space.
Amity is meant to be placed throughout the an outdoor space. During the day, Amity acts as a place marker. The form plays with the idea of weight and gravity by suspending two heavy materials between frosted glass.
As day turns into night, what suspends these two materials is not only the frosted glass, but the light from within. In the dark, they still act as place markers by lighting the ground of this heavily trafficked space.
