Zenga Chair
Youngmin Kim from Seoul, Korea, has been working on his new designed chair for his school project. The project was to constantly think about a single word and to solve the idea derived from chair design. The designer concentrated on natural stones and solved the problem, resulting in a Zenga chair.
He conentrated on the volcanic stone of the natural stone and he concerned about it’s expression. Then he saw the stone wall of Jeju Island in Korea and felt the potential of communicating with nature in the form of stone walls.
The stone walls of Jeju Island in Korea are constructed in an open form rather than a clogged form. We have designed a chair that can be harmonized with nature by substituting the structural form of Jeju stone wall into chair.
The chair was on displayed at <Woodworkcing & Furniture Design Week 2016>
