I did this line art as X-mas gift for my mother. I have to admit, it took me longer than I thought it would. Partly because of lack of time due to work, partly because I was just discovering this technique and therefore was doing many adjustments and generally toying with it.
Overall, it was a fun project and I learned a new art technique, which is always good.

A basic contour
Than, I added a base skin colour
Subsequently, I added some shadows, lights and midtones to give the line art a feeling of texture. Also, look at the glasses. It got a new look as well, and reflections
The same process was applied for the blouse
