Infographic: Save the Bees

This was one of my first projects of my first year in USW. The brief was to create an information graphic based on bees. The information graphic had to include the following: 1 fact about bees, 1 process bees go through and 1 way to help them. For this project I decided my target audience would be Primary School Children.
For the fact I decided to show what each gender of the Red-Tailed Bumblebee looks like. I tried to make it as simple as possible for the children to find it easier to understand. During the research stage I found that the male Red-Tails had moustaches, so thought they would be a good signifier to use.
For the process I decided to do what happens when a hive loses their queen.
I wanted the kids to have a simple way to help bees that they could do at home and maybe as an activity at school so I decided to go with planting flowers using simple illustrations.
The final layout was kept in an unusual shape in order to catch the attention of the target audience and also so that it would stand out among other posters that may be up in the schools.
