This is a quick conceptual project designing cycling jersey apparel for the Giordana brand.
I wanted to use a touch of my personal style, as well as look into how retro designs seem to be making a comeback in much of today’s cycling apparel. I mostly realized this is evident in the color schemes, and incorporated this into my designs. Most of all though, I drew inspiration from what I feel when I’m riding my bike. What feelings does a cyclist have when they’re in the saddle? Personally, I enjoy how freeing it is being in the outdoors where you’re able to zone out of everyday life and let loose. To feel the fresh air and watch the world go by, whether it’s an urban setting or a more natural one. Each portraying how colorful and fun life can be, while simultaneously being a healthy lifestyle choice. I love the idea that we are the mechanism that moves the bike too, and how cycling proves how powerful the human body can be. We can achieve anything, while also having a blast. This is the idea behind each of my designs.
