Since 2004 I've been a graphic designer specializing in print. Most notably, I've worked for Weldon Owen Publishing, both in-house and as a freelancer, on numerous projects for Williams-Sonoma. From design proposals to final press checks, I've been involved in all aspects of the publishing world from a designer's perspective. Duties and skills include: creating mood boards; setting color schemes; prop selection; being on set during photo shoots to assist the art director, photographer and food stylists; editing images for layout and review; creation of design layout including proposals, templates and working press files; work closely with editors to get book to press; work with marketing department to create sales materials, including hand finishing of samples for sales meetings.
