Waiting Ring
Sterling silver and 14kty gold interactive
My brother-in-law passed recently.  We took the gold from his wedding band and divided it between his two children.  They both liked the idea of using the gold in their own wedding band when that time comes.  My niece wanted a way to wear hers in the meantime.  This is what I came up with.  The ring is sterling silver, the band around the ring is the gold from her father's wedding band.  The outer band fits in such a way as to allow it to spin on the silver ring - the "interactive" part, and, as such, can easily be removed and made into a wedding ring later.  I was able to use the gold - with only minor alterations - without melting or re-forming it.  In fact - you can't see it,but - the original maker's mark and karat stamp are still on the inside of the gold band.
