Based upon the principles of Buckminster Fuller, we were each to construct a tensile structure using at least twelve compression members. We were given freedom to use any material we wanted, and after some influence, I decided to create this design using two-foot and four-foot T12 fluorescent lamps. Connections were created using acrylic tubing to transfer loads directly through the tubes to prevent any possible breakage. All wiring is contained within the reflective black base.
