Mood boards are a great way to start the design process for a new brand. Below are a few of my mood boards for two recent design projects. Thank you for taking a look at this project!
LOBSTER SHACK
The dynamic mood board for Lobster Shack was an exploration into the sounds and motions of the narrative. This is the first time the viewer starts to hear and see the beach influences that are a large part of the Lobster Shack brand narrative.
After doing research a few key elements stuck out--first, lobster buoys play a vital role in the lobstering industry (they act almost as family coat of arms letting other fishermen know whose lobster traps the buoys are attached too), obviously organic elements would play a role (lobsters, who knew), and fishing shacks are really a thing. With that said, the final designs for Lobster Shack changed with regards to the color palette (brighter colors were chosen), fonts (after working with the logo, changes were necessary), and design elements were simplified.

AMPCAR
The dynamic mood board is very much on par with the static version below. The dynamic mood board steps things up a notch with video showcasing the vehicle in action. The music creates a sense of adventure. Finally you see one of the earlier iterations of the logo at the end.
The Ampcar Static mood board is all about adventure. The chevrons double as tire tracks and photos of adventures in the great outdoors have been placed inside of them. The color scheme matches a common outdoor campsite with greens, browns, and blues.
