Pacman: The Board Game

The idea of the project was to create a new game inspired by the video Game Pacman. Thinking about the mechanics and the style of game.
We got inspired by the Brazilian game Curral that relies on the player trying to get to the other side of the board and at the same time get in the way of the opponents by creating barriers.
The board is a big square of 30 x 30 Cm filled with tiny squares of 2 x 2 Cm.
The pieces of the game are the same characters as in the video game. Each Player is a Pacman and on each small square in the board, there is a small ball. Each ball is one point. To win the game the player has to pick as many balls as he/she can.
The player can only move according to which number he got on the dice. The dice has the number one in two sides, the number two and the number three, this means that the maximum movement of one player is three squares. For each square that he walks by, he collects the balls that lie there. The other two sides are the ghosts. If a player rolls the dice and the ghost appears, he has to pick one ghost of the pile and place it on one small square on the board. That place now is blocked, the ball that was there is out of the game and no one can step on that square anymore. You can place the ghost wherever you like but it cant be on the square that the other player already is or block any path for other players (you can't create a square of ghosts around your opponent and block him from the game for example).
The game ends when the balls end.
After testing this prototype of paper we realized that the pieces would fly very easily if they where loose on the table. So for the final product we crated a magnetized table where the balls and the Pacmans are made from magnets and the board is metal.
