The name for this project is derived from the Latin words for 'Shaped' and 'Writing' as it was inspired by scripture in the middle east.

The entire chair is made from Ash, not a particularly interesting timber, yet is hardwearing and easy to work with. Also readily available and relatively affordable.

After the rough cutting of the components on the bandsaw, the shaping and sanding of the chair took 10 days to complete which was no mean feat although it adds an authentic, handmade touch to the piece.
