Elementary Book Illustration

Children's Book Illustration
This project was one of my first illustrations done at my job as a graphic artist at N2Y. The purpose of the project was to illustrate pages of a book being published for an elementary class. I used characters and created a scene according requirements and description of the book. The Illustrations needed to be clear, simple, and coincide with one another for young kids to see and understand. We have guidelines to follow when illustrating a book or project to ensure we are consistent with other team members.
Ned and his family are on vacation.
Today they are at the beach.
The Sun is high up in the sky.
Ned grabs his water bottle.
There were ice cubes in the water bottle, but they melted.
What made the ice cubes melt?
Ned wants to know.
Ned buys ice cream for himself and his sister.
The ice cream melts before they can eat it.
What made the ice cream melt?
Ned wants to know.
Ned jumps in the water to cool off.
Before the water was cool, but now it is warm.
What made the water warm?
Ned wants to know.
Ned grabs his towel to dry off.
The towel was wet from Ned’s last swim, but now it is dry.
What made the towel dry?
Ned wants to know.
The Sun is not high up in the sky anymore.
It is time for Ned and his family to leave the beach.
But Ned does not want to leave yet.
Before Ned leaves, he wants to know:
What made the things at the beach change?
