Looser strokes intended to capture the party atmosphere of an Indian wedding. Inspired by the old Gujarati song/dance called “Sanedo.” The first half is quiet and you sit calmly, then the second half is wild and everyone goes nuts on the dancefloor! Fun!
Birthday card & drink voucher for a friend who loves the American version of a "snakebite." (Half stout, half cider.) I layered the primary highlighter colors together to get the greens and oranges.
A tip jar sign for a wedding bartender, whipped up with highlighters and sharpie.
Extremely sarcastic card for a friend (not a big Diesel fan in reality).
Crayon and colored pencil birthday card for my Grandpa. So many candles! The smoke stack letters are lit dramatically from below.
Birthday card for avid fisherman Neil. Uses highlighter, crayon and pencil.
Crayon and ink Mother's Day card sent from the farm I worked on in NorCal. Her favorite veggie is asparagus. (Note the farmer tan and fresh tattoo ink -- still red and welted!)
"Happy Birthday from everyone on the farm! Even the gophers!"  A card for a fellow farmer friend who knows what it's like to deal with those lil' buggers! Made with colored pencil, ink, and highlighter.
Oh no! You forgot to bring your booth-sign before setting up at the Maker's Market! Never fear -- just hand me a pen and a chunk of spare cardboard. This is primarily a testament to my freehand lettering ability and speed. No ruler, no pencil, no sketching. Just using the striations in the corrugated cardboard helped me eyeball the lines, and I knocked this out in about 20 minutes.
Fellow farmer who's born on Oct. 31st, and loves goats! Uses a combination of ink, pencil, and highlighter.
(I assume a goat would want to be a turtle for Halloween?)
Multi-layered highlighter birthday card. Note the detail in the eyes, which uses tiny threads of every available color.
"Sorry, but an owl stole your present! Please enjoy this card." Another highlighter birthday card.
Saying thanks to another avid fisherman, with highlighter and sharpie.
