NOSTALGIC FUTURES 2017-18
World, moving too fast and constantly changing in the process, provokes a fear of ending and losing and creates a feeling that things do not last anymore. The idea of loss invokes a deep sense of nostalgia. The future may be bright but we feel the need to remember our old selves. Turning back to the past, embracing the old and well-known times and memories, makes us feel calm and safe. Designers find solutions in using traditional designs but showing them in a new way. They remind us of that safe place that existed in the past by evoking memories, but also always finding a new way to use them and transform in to something new.
