Depression Poster
Digital Collage, 2014

This digital image represents depression as an aversion to the natural human need to be happy.
I selected my choice of textures and objects based from found feelings from reading the novel, Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath, and from personal experience between and loved one and myself. I scanned different objects and textures to create rough, scratchy, uncomfortable textures. The water, plank, broken tile, and hidden identity of the girl illustrates the isolated, subversive feeling one may have when experiencing depression.
