The Colours of Jesus

The Colours of Jesus is a global project about Christian faith. Multilingual and freely available for everyone. A project that helps connecting people with each other, worldwide, in real-time. That allows Christians speak more about their faith. Not about the things that separate the different denominations, but about what unites them. To help us talk about what we really believe in. And perhaps a new symbol of faith, hope and unity (read more).

The application design combines user experience design, interface design and interaction design to create a virtual personality that interacts with the user. People can take part in the project by giving their Christian belief a colour, using an intuitive and specially designed multitouch colorpicker. The storytelling embeds the sensitive issue of faith into a fluent dialogue. The application is multilingual and simply adapts to each visitor’s individual language. Through its user-oriented design based on different personas, it meets the demands of different user groups. An additional website visualises and updates the data that users contribute in real-time, made possible by the most up-to-date technology – like Angular2, feathers.js and WebSockets. The project is evaluated both heuristically and practically.

Developed and engineered by Jan Lohage.

Master thesis, supervised by Dr. Andreas Beaugrand and Robert Paulmann at Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences. Summer 2016.
