I was heavily influenced by World of Warcraft and Blizzard's Environment design for this concept, I wanted to have a huge ice spike protuding out of the ground on a wintery environment.
Since I was studying the uses of gradient maps in Photoshop, I made it all on tones of gray, then added gradient maps for coloring, adjusted pretty heavily since most of it had too similar gray shades. pretty fun to see the how my shading did the coloring by itself in the end.
