Partnerships for Trauma Recovery Brochure Design

My First Summer Internship

This past summer, I had the pleasure of joining a startup non-profit organization in Berkeley, CA - Partnerships for Trauma Recovery. Fresh out of college with nothing in store for me, I took up this offer even though it was unpaid. I joined for the experience and it was great working with such a passionate group of people. I started in the non-profit as a social media intern, but since this was a start-up where we all wear multiple hats, I decided to put on the hat of a graphic designer for the team. Pretty soon, many design projects were put onto my plate. I was able to learn a lot and fast, building a brand and image for the non-profit

The following brochure design is a collaboration with another designer on the team. We worked for weeks, revising over and over again, until this design was finalized.

Brochure Inside Design
Through this project, I was able to learn about collaboration - sending copies of drafts and emails back and forth between multiple people can be difficult, but at the end of the day, when I see that I am able to make progress and the design feels more like "this is it!" then I know that I am doing great work.
