House Photography

For most people a home is where your family is, where you can be yourself, and where you keep your personal belongings that make you who you are. A home is more of a space you take for granted and most people never notice the beauty of the home and how it represents your family.

In the collection, I chose to document three of my close friends’ houses. Some of the rooms are where the best memories of my life were created and the areas represent my friend’s family and how they live there. Most of the houses are extremely clean and neat. This not only shows that they are neat freaks, but is also represents how they are also extremely put together in the real outside world.

Even though I document the interior design of the three houses, it shows the bigger picture of how the family choses to portray themselves. I do this by focusing on the structure and atmosphere of the house by using photographs that give you a glimpse of the decoration in the home. The series ends with an image of a coat rack, which symbolizes leaving the home. Overall this collection shows the beauty and aura of an important place that is typically taken for granted.
