Tend Environmental Transition Device

In order to address tactility issues that are also commonly associated with Sensory Processing Disorder, the tend has interchangeable foam covers that snap on and off, further customizing the system.
The purpose of my senior thesis was to encourage children with special needs to play outside. My research led me to address Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD), common among children with Autism and Asperger’s, but also prevalent in children with no other issues.

The tend auditory transition system is designed to grow with your child as they develop. Using sustainable materials in the product and packaging and a recycling system designed into the business plan, the tend system is a sustainable product that will help special needs children deal with daily stresses.

As a child grows and develops into a teen, they might feel awkward and different when they deal with their issues of Sensory Processing Disorder. In order to accomodate this, the Aria system is designed to be a removable headphone device that can be incorporated into the tend system.
