This photo is one of my Favourite, I do remember very well the time was afternoon around 5 pm , cause it was getting dark clouds , weather was changing going to rain soon , getting quite cold , it was on 4th of April 2011

Lighting

the Dark cloud weather on that day had supported my shooting let me photograph against the light, cause it is not that easy snapping a flying bird in such a fram . but don't get upset when you see such clouds, the may help creating a great contrast ,be optimest go and capture photographs .

It was the D700 Nikon , Aperture ƒ/8.0 170.0 mm Speed 1/1250- Iso 1250 Exposure Mode - Auto - Focal Length (35mm format) - 255 mm- Flash was (off, did not fire) - White Balance - Auto

Inspiration

photographing Birds is a joy , I was watching that bird flying in circles , keep flying around and around and coming back so I waited till it appears close to the carousel which we can observe behind , it was given the photo the motion which I connected as a contradiction against the bird as a symbole of nature, and the carrousel symbolize the new machines we are creating to spin around. I just thought ! in this moment while it is flying in an uncomplicated way, what is the bird thinking at about us? are Human trying to fly ?

Editing

It is along time ago 2011,but as far as I remember , I was learning Adobe Photoshop CS Macintosh , so I had to work on exposure of course I had to use a filter to change from color to black and white . but not much editing

In my camera bag

now I changed a lot since 2011 - I got the Nikon D4 and the Nikon Df simply because the D4 is professional and the Df is for taking time and creating Art , I always use one of them , most of the Time I have my prime lens Nikon 85mm , and Nikon 24mm anywhere I go, the both lenses became my favourite the third is the Nikon24-70 mm

Feedback

to catch such a Bird in flying , you have to adjust your focus on an automatic continuous AF-C for Nikon, Continuous auto-focus is the good choice here in such a picture , so it would be capable of accurately tracking , , also you have to concentrate on only one bird,, let the focus on eyes , chose the option multi-point mode (all points) 51 points in a Nikon body maybe more the time change the new cameras may show more. try always to capture where the bird is in clear contrast with its background, wish you all Good luck .
