Everything Is Illuminated
For one of my illustration classes, we were assigned the task of redesigning an existing book cover. I had recently read Everything Is Illuminated, and I was enthused with the idea of the number of visuals I had to work with from his book. I eventually chose a scene where the two main characters are residing in the grass, looking up at the stars, and reminiscing over life's events and circumstances. The following is a result of my interpretation of the scene and also the overall visual aesthetic I saw applying to the book. The illustration is made entirely out of pencils and colored pencils.
