Digital Cafe Pop Up Shop

Some of the statistics comparing British to Irish marketing spend caused me concern: in 2010 the average percentage of marketing budget spent on digital channel in the UK is 26% while in Ireland it’s a paltry 3%.

I suspected that the disparity was due to a lack of understanding in the Irish business community.

So with my team I decided to take action and initiate change in the Irish business mindset. We found an empty retail space in Dublin’s shopping heartland and turned it into ‘The Digital Cafe’ - a venue where any business could ask us about digital marketing - from why do it to how to do it.

Using Twitter, Facebook and a dedicated website we got the word out about the Cafe. Interest was huge.
On the day we fielded every conceivable question about digital marketing and were supported by some well known social media organisations. As digital innovators, we’re continually working to help every client and brand realize their digital potential.

We saw over 100 small companies and organisations, and served 332 coffees and untold buns.

My role was key throughout: Initial idea, planning, creative direction, concepts, digital design, writing, presentation.
