A typography and prepress centred assignment on ‘Fear of Writing’ by Tan Tarn How,
a book about a writer who secretly faces creative block and then problems with Singapore’s strict censorship.
This assignment was set to learn layout and hierarchy of information,
as well as bookbinding (section sewn and hardcover bounded by hand).

The cover design has a hidden surprise – a hidden pencil within the title, which translates the title well. The book comes with a book sleeve that helps to make it more obvious and impactful. The box border with text arranged neatly inside represents the fear of crossing out of boundaries.
