A project looking in to the works of Adrien Frutiger. A different take on paying homage to the input he had as a typographer in to the design world.

Not being a massive typographer myself I wanted to read between the lines - literally.

Avenir is one of the most known and used fonts created by Frutiger. Typing out the alphabet A-Z, I began extending the lines of the letters, creating geometrical forms. Once removing the letters and leaving these line formations behind, I realised I had created another take on stereo typical typography.

With my personal interests being within trends and fashion, I wanted to make this as accessible for particularly the millenial generation. Generation festival. Generation 'I don't want something anyone else has'. Taking sections of the now geometrical Avenir alphabet, I created transfer tattoos. I imagine them being associated with stores like Urban Outfitters, Topshop etc.
