This project was created from April 29-May 17, 2016 in Photoshop. The purpose of this project was to transform a normal picture of myslef into a photo resembling to a manga character. Drawing sketches and finding picture references were part of my brainstroming. 

To begin with, I had to choose a theme/mood that my manga self would portray. I decided on a hippie character and came up with an outfit, prop, facial expression, and hand gesture; a tye dye shirt, flowers, smiling and peace signs.

Then I had to choose a background for my manga photo, in which I chose a field with flowers.

Using the magnetic lasso tool, I transfered myself from the original picture to my chosen background. Manga characters typically have big eyes and a small mouth and nose and full hair. Using the pucker tool I made my mouth and lips appear smaller and using the bloat tool I made my eyes appear bigger. Both pucker and bloat were available under the liquify setting. I then chose a light brown and painted my eyes to make them appear brighter along with eyelashes. I then chose a pink colour and turned the opacity down and painted my cheeks.Using the magnetic lasso tool and the clone stamp tool, I added extra volume to my hair to make it look more full. In the photo settings I added a grain effect to make it appear as if it was in a comic book.
